Becoming a mother is the hardest thing in the world, and not just because of nausea, swollen feet , and labour. You love your child more than yourself, and watching that child suffer is possibly worse than the darkest form of hell. But many times, your baby is your candle, and your job is to cup your hands around this candle and let it burn, even though it just might burn you.
Milestones is a story I could never have written before I became a mum. It’s the toughest job in the world and the most thankless, especially during teenage. But as unreligious as I am, I believe there’s a special place in heaven for good mothers, and I wish more fathers [and teenagers] would realise that.
